Learn more about the exceptional value of the ASHA Learning Pass

Many seniors are exposed to considerable amounts of information about hearing loss and hearing health and can find it difficult to separate facts from fiction. Meanwhile, others do not get enough information about these important topics. This webinar will explore educational tools and resources to help older adults meet their individual communication needs. The presenter will share information and resources that you can pass on to your patients regarding hearing aids and the brain, as well as tools to promote healthy hearing as patients age.

Learning Objectives:
You will be able to:

  • describe how hearing loss affects the aging brain and set realistic expectations for rehabilitation
  • explain the relationship between hearing loss and hearing aids in relation to cognition/training and brain plasticity
  • identify and share new resources and tools aimed at promoting healthy aging
About the Carhart Series of Audiology Webinars
This webinar is part of ASHA’s new Carhart Series of Audiology Webinars, named in honor of the “father of audiology” and past ASHA president, Dr. Raymond Carhart. He expressed a love for the clinic and for practitioners who work hard each day to solve patients’ hearing and communication challenges. Reflecting Dr. Carhart’s spirit of curiosity and his appreciation for discovery and practical application, the series features expert speakers who use evidence-based decision-making to propose solutions to the top clinical dilemmas that audiologists face in daily practice.
